viva...

...Las Vegas!!!!  I'm flying out today for a few days.  Have a happy HALLOWEEN...!!!

Joke-- Why couldn't the witch get pregnant?

The photo above was taken a year ago at the Mix Lounge.  It's a swanky bar/restaurant on the top floor of The Hotel.  It's a great place to watch the sunset... while sipping on a delicious cocktail.

modern globes

This past July, my sister and I went to the Word Market Center Las Vegas.  I found a small company who manufactures modern acrylic globes-- but silly me-- I forgot to take their card.  I've been searching to find similar ones... and only found csn world globes and 1-world globes.  I have an acrylic coffee table and this style globe would look great on the shelf behind my couch.  So, if anyone has seen one lately... please let me know ;-)

I was inspired by Liam's front door... and decided to browse around.  Here are three modern design companies. Enjoy.

Offi

If you're a fan of molded plywood like I am-- you must check out designer Eric Pheifer for Offi and Company.  I recently purchased the offi mag table to complement my plycraft lounge chair.  It comes in walnut, oak, birch, black, white, and red.  It's super light-- yet so sturdy.  Plus, it's functional-- flip it on it's side and it becomes a laptop stand.  Or, use it to place coffee and store Dwell magazines like I do.  Last night on HGTV's Beyond the Box-- a couple used them as night stands for their platform bed-- very cool.
You can find Offi products on sites like Design Public, 2modern, and Hive.

Aldo Londi vase

Today I found out this vase is by Aldo Londi, the former art director of the famous Bitossi family in Italy.  He is best known for his Rimini Blu colection.  My Dad told me they bought it on their honeymoon in Italy.  My Mom said it was a wedding present.  Hmmmm.  Either way, I have a newfound appreciation for this gorgeous piece.

This orange cat would look great on my shelf!
